This is another awesome example of Mike's work. This unit pre-dates the current '54 line. It was a one off custom job.
Lindy split coil, I think this is overwound, it is very hot and open sounding. Tons of low low end.
Hipshot hardware (bridge, tuners)
The bass is very light, about 8.4 lbs. Well balanced and a dream to play.
As with all Lulls, the frets are perfect. This one has not been PLEK'd but you would never know it. Very low action can be had.
Currently strung with Fender Tape Flats.
The only issues are cosmetic, they are a very small chip near the jack, which does not go to the wood and a small crack near at one of the neck bolts, paint only (from the bushing pressing into the neck bolt cavity) and a pin size dent in the top that I could not photograph.
The only trade I would consider would be a hofner short scale.
