FS/FT: Mike Lull PJ '93 - PRICE DROP- Lull for $850

This is an older Lull PJ (1993) that I just picked up. It's a beautifully grained Ash body, Jazz width 21 fret Warmoth maple neck, which is what Mike used in those days. This is original to the bass. Bartolini pick ups and Bartolini TBT two band active tone circuit. Reverse wind tunes with D-tuner. Controls are volume (push-pull for active/passive), blend, stack treble/bass tone. Neck is true/no issues and I set it up with crazy low action with no buzz. Really nice used condition, especially considering nearly 20 years old, darn good shape. Finish is more of a tobacco burst but still has a nice shine, a few minor dings, light buckle rash on the back, but nothing major. Pickup covers have some wear on top from use, but no issues. I'm only the second owner as the musician I bought this from bought this direct from Mike in '93 (Mike Lull's guitar works then). This is a very comfortable great player, nice fast feel. Had fret crown and leveling done by Mike himself in '09, new jack and battery clip too.
I've never had a bass that can completely change character and tone based on string selection. DR flats get really growly, GHS Progressives get a lot brighter and snappy. This bass plays beautifully, with a really nice comfortable neck/fretboard feel.
Just weighed this (1-18-13) and it is slightly over 9.5 lbs.

Comes with Fender hard case or Freedom hard case (with case key), whichever you prefer. Both in good condition, all latches working.

Sale only: asking $950 Price drop $850 shipped conus. Paypal is fine.
Possible trades: Of course cash is king.
Fender bright finish jazz 4 or p bass 4 with maple fretboard (one of the bright red or orange finishes, lake placid blue, seafoam green, frost green, charcoal).

I remember reading about these from Jeff Ament's interview a while back. Some pretty cool history there! I think he used a bunch of these for a long time.

Nice. What does it weigh?

kshipley1 01-08-2013 07:21 AM

Weight is 10 lbs, well balanced, no tugging on the left shoulder.
