Just received this bass in a trade. Picked up another bass over the weekend so I decided to keep the sterling instead.
I already bought some mods for this bass but have not put them on yet.
Will come with Fender Molded hard shell case.
Mods that I have on the side for it:
- badass ii bridge with grooved saddles
- audere preamp
- 60's jazz bass copper shielding for pickup cavities and
control cavity
- schaller straplocks

Here is a picture from the person I bought it from. Once I get home and unwrap it I will take new updated pictures.

Sale Price: $725.00 shipped with all the mods/ $600.00 shipped without bridge/preamp.

Will consider trades for Classic Series P-bass (57/62) roadworn series p basses and MIA p basses

Bump for my favorite bass! I have a Fender Custom Shop Jazz ,but prefer my MIM 70's Reissue. Go Figure. The stock single coil pickups with 70's placement on the bridge pickup just nail that 70's vintage tone. The Bridge pickup is growly and "burps" like nobody's business. The neck pup is hugely fat and can produce "sub" tones that will knock your socks off. I switched out my stock pups for a pair of Nordstrand NJ4SE humcancelling pups and ended up switching back to the stock pickups. The 20 fret fretboard is very comfortable to play. This bass is excellent for fingerstyle, but not ideal for slap. If you want $600 worth of vintage bass tonethis is money very well spent....this is the way to go. Feel free to contact me with any more detailed questions regarding this bass.

But they didn't make basses in Mexico in the 70's!

My "This bass sounds great" comment was meant for the general TB audience as an effort to help you move it, not as an attempt to encourage you to keep it Cheers!!

BTW, I am LOVING the P-bass. Thanks again!!

the saddles are grooved but not deep. Just enough for the strings to not move around. I do not have a scale at home but it does not feel as light as my other J. I would presume that it weighs somewhere aorund 9-10lbs. It feels almost the same as my sterling which is made of ash
