Hello all!
Up for sale is my 1999 Modulus Quantum 6. It has a 5A (AAAAA) quilted maple top with a full graphite neck/fingerboard. The top on this bass looks like a freaking swimming pool. I weighed the bass on a high end bathroom scale and I got 9.8 lb's 3 out of 3 times. This has Bartolini soap bar pups and a Bart 3 band NTMB pre amp. The controls are VOL, BLEND, MID, BASS/TREB stack. This bass adds up to just under $5,000 on the modulus website. Buy it here in new condition for less than 50% of that. MODULUS GUITARS - FLEA BASS I am the original and ONLY owner of this bass and I have taken excellent care of her. She has been adult owned all her life, never toured with, and played in church for a few years on weekends only. NON-smoking home. I still even have the small owners manual and wall tag that Modulus includes with the bass that I'll include.
The bass is currently strung up with TI Jazz Flats. They've got less than 10 hours of play time on them. The strings are in mint condition and cost me $110 from JustStrings.com . I'm including the box for the strings and the receipt so you can sell them if they're not for you. These are the best flat wound strings available.
The action is set low and feels unbelievable like Modulus bases are known for. I've never felt an easier neck to tap on. The neck is DEAD STRAIGHT and I've never experienced any fret buzz with the bass regardless of which string set is on it. I've never had to adjust the truss rod in the 10+ years I've owned her- now that's a Modulus for ya! I've had this bass in the air conditioning in it's case for months at a time, and when I pull it out later I swear to you the bass was still in tune. Absolutely unbelievable.
This Quantum 6 is fully stock and original. Modulus includes strap locks from the factory. I purchased this bass from Mars Music back in the early 2000's. It will be sad to see her go but I don't play her much anymore and I need to fund some touring gear purchases for my current band. Things to be noted:
This bass was worked on, checked up, and fully set up by Pavel Hadara, the legendary bass builder. ( www.pavelmi.com ) When I bought the bass from Mars Music it had been on the shelf for a few months, as not many people wanted to pay the $3,800 price tag, and I took it to Pavel right away to have him clean the bass, condition the finger board and do a full set up back when Pavel lived in South Florida before moving to TX.
The bass had one small chip in the clear coat on the bottom fingerboard edge near the 20th fret. Pavel added some clear coat and buffed it out and it now unnoticeable by feel and slightly noticeable by sight if you're looking directly at it. Spot pictured below.
Pavel is one of the top 5 bass luthiers in the country and there was NO one better suited to repair the small blemish and set up this bass.
The bass also has some scuffs on the plastic control cavity cover on the back of the bass from the button on my jeans. I was always careful to not wear a sharp belt buckle with the bass, but it seems the large buttons on designer jeans can make scuffs too. There's a few little surface specs here and there from light use over the years, but nothing large enough that I could even successfully photograph.
Those are the only notable items pertaining to the bass. This bass is in 9.9 out of 10 condition. I never played it with a belt buckle, I cared for this meticulously as it was and still is my most expensive musical investment to date. This bass is beautiful and I'd love to see a fellow TB'er give this 6er a good new home and properly care for her.
The bass will come with a Modulus form fitted hard case as well with very minimal wear. The case has the Modulus logo branded/melted into the outside, pretty darn cool looking.
Please view the photos for an honest representation of condition, and also view my 100% positive feedback for added buyer comfort. I'm asking $1,695.00 OBO Shipped Insured to your door with hard case. I'll entertain some trade ideas. PM me if you'd like to propose a trade. Location: Broward County, South FL

Local pickup is fine, I can even deliver. You're more than welcome to talk to me on the phone as well about any questions, etc. PM me for my cell phone number. If you'd like a specific photo of anything you don't currently see, let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate your request.
Thanks everyone!

I've wanted a Q6 to match my Cirrus 6 (5A Flammed Maple). They'd make the perfect pair! (SIGH) Why do I always have to move at the most inopportune times?! Good luck with this beautiful piece of art. -Luke
P.S. You have the best avatar on TB,lol.

Unbelievable deal on this.
