FS: MINT vintage-modded 08 MIM P-bass in Oly White w/HSC - $499 CONUS!

Last year I got a good deal on a 2008 MIM P-bass and decided to trick it out vintage style. So I got a Duncan SPB-1 vintage-type pickup, a brass pickup grounding plate, and a .1uf orange drop capacitor and re-wired it to 60s specs (or very close). I went for a white & chrome look, with white pickup cover and tugbar as well as the chrome ashtray bridge cover (with foam mute installed!). It is strung with an old, smoothed-out set of rotosound flats (with light blue silk - not the strings pictured) and has a sweet old-school tone whether you pick or thump the muted strings.

Once I was done, I packed the bass away and have pulled it out to play only about a half a dozen times! So it's been sitting in its case almost a year. Even so, there is some early pitting on the bridge cover, and the tiniest of finish scuffs just below the bridge. I mention these flaws only in the interest of full disclosure - this essentially a brand new Fender pre-modded to 60s specs for all you vintage tone freaks!

The neck feels great, is nice clear maple (nicer piece than many MIAs I've seen). Tone is gorgeous - try playing the flats with a pick for that "studio" sound! Hook it like JJ or thump away like your country heroes - this is what a P-bass is supposed to sound like.

2008 MIM Fender P-Bass. Alder body, rosewood FB. White covers (but I can include black covers on request), tugbar; chrome bridge cover w/ foam mute. Seymour Duncan LPB-1 pickup. electronics modded to 60s spec. Has Dunlop Straplocks installed; I THINK I have a couple extra strap ends - but I will also include the original strap buttons. Ships in a Fender hardshell case that has minimal wear (pictured).

$499 shipped in the CONUS. More elsewhere.

I don't have a great scale here; I'll see what I can come up with. As you'd expect with the alder body, it is on the light side.

Not a matching headstock - the maple is a bit pale at that end - this bass hasn't been exposed to much light.

Not looking for trades.
