FS :: Mod'd Fender (MIM) Jazz Bass - $300 Shipped (CONUS)
New LARGE pics have been uploaded to
http://picasaweb.google.com/robertburtonbrown/Gear# ** NOTE: If you're local, and would like a GREAT deal, I'd be willing to take $100 off the combination of the rig and the jazz bass.
I will take and post better pics this evening, but I have my eye on something HOT so I've decided after much pain to sell this bass. I had this built up around a set of early EMG's that I had lying around and am THRILLED with the outcome, but it's a bit redundant for me right now.
- The body is a MIM body from about '03 and has a large chip taken from the top of the pocket (right behind the heel of the neck). Apart from that there are a couple minor scratches and chips. The large chip has been sealed w/ CA to prevent further spread. I will be sure to include pictures of the chip, it's significant, but can't be seen from the front, and can't really be felt either. (I had originally listed this as a '96 but someone informed me that b/c of the fact that the bridge pickup is wider like it is on a MIA model, it has to be '03 or later.)
- The neck is either MightyMite or AllParts, as I honestly cannot remember. The frets could use a little dressing, but they're all level and there's no buzzing. The truss rod works perfectly and the bass has very low action as it's set up. I have debated shaving the nut a little more to get it lower, but with the possibility of sale, decided not to. The neck can be considered new.
- The bridge is a Wilkinson vintage style replacement w/ brass barrels (my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE vintage style bridge). I believe that the tuners are Wilkinson as well, but have no markings on them.
- The electronics are perfect w/ no noise, and the pots and jack were replaced w/ new CTS and Switchcraft. The knobs are brand new barrelshaft style replacements as well.
- The bass is currently strung w/ Rotosound Tapewounds as this is what I was going for with this bass, but I will happily toss in the set of D'Addarios that I had on it when it was built.
- Lastly, the headstock (which can't be seen well in this picture) has a "spaghetti style" Fender logo in Chrome that looks really cool, and was NOT intended to fool anyone into thinking anything. It was offered to me, so I said "what the heck".
The bass will ship via Fedex in a decent HSC. Paypal is ok as well.
