FS: modded MTD Kingston Artist 5 + extra pickguards

Gotta put this up for sale due to other gear demands. Like the title says, It's an Artist 5 (the 1st run passive model) modded with a Hipshot Type A bridge and Bartolini DL5CBC Stingray style pickup wired in series to an Aguilar OBP-1 preamp. It comes with three different colored pickguards - pearloid green, black and white as well as a black plastic endcover for when you want to go sans pickguard. The bass has a bit of nicks and minor, light scratching but nothing glaringly hideous. It's definitely been gigged although I prefer to call it "seasoning". The biggest drawbacks would be that you might want to consider new pots in the future as the volume pot is of the 25k EMG variety (installed in an emergency) and the treble pot has a sudden cutoff at the beginning of the sweep. The finish on the bridge's saddles is wearing away, exposing the brass which actually doesn't look that bad. None of these things affect the overall tone and playability but I have to mention it for the sake of full disclosure of course. Asking $500 shipped. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

Never mind the Grendel in the 1st pic

Thanks. There's gonna be some pain involved in letting it go but such is the way of gas, lol.

not to derail...

but I just got a Artist 5 in a TB trade. Mine only has a volume and tone knob in the body, its passive. Was there an earlier/later run of these models with just a 2 knob setup as this?

Seems like all the ones I've seen have at least 3 knobs when not modded. This one now has a single Aero humbucker, sounds huge. These are great basses that seem to take well to mods and make em better.
And a BUMP to recover!

No problem with the derail. I've been guilty of it once or twice This one is from the first wave of Kingstons with the passive two knob arrangement and as far as I know, only the first batch had that configuration.
