FS: Modulus Genesis Vintage Jazz

*** SOLD ***

Modulus Genesis VJ4

- Carbon fiber spine with woods laminated for neck, headstock, and fretboard
- Pale Metallic Green with painted headstock
- Hipshot Satin Ultralight Tuners
- Dimarzio Ultra Jazz pickups
- Strings through body bridge

This bass came from the factory with this config. I'm fairly certain BassNW or BassCentral ordered a few in this configuration about 10-15 years ago, and I remembering seeing this specific bass as new on one of their sites.

Not sure about the woods; the body is probably ash or alder, the fretboard is perhaps chechen, and I have no guess about the neck backing. The neck has a thin profile, and a great shape. I've played other Modulus Jazz basses that I felt were lacking in this regard, but I think they nailed on this particular bass.

There are a few digs on the back towards the bridge, and a few others on the bottom edge by the controls. There is a ding on the back of the neck behind the nut, I don't find this to be an issue, but I expect it could be touched up by a repair man. I've tried to get all these in the photos.

The case is functional but has some bulging/warping going on. It looks like an SKB knockoff.

$1100 + shipping

Yeah, I had a VJ Gen 4 w/EMG passives, Aggie 2-band & maple board - a killer that I regret trading. One of the best 4's I ever owned!
I recently got a 99 Gen 5 with Barts that sounds great, but I have a feeling the Dimarzio's in this one would have a really nice growl...

Thanks for the interest!

This bass has a passive circuit, old school man.

I'm looking for a straight up sale on this one, sorry not interested in trades.

Yes, it has a truss rod. And I'm fairly certain that all Modulus Genesis necks have a truss rod. Cheers.

This is so cool. If I needed another Jazz, I'd be all over this.
These necks are great.
