FS: Modulus Q6, Semi-hollow Walnut, 2007

Sign in to disble this ad
Semi-hollow walnut Modulus Q6 6-string bass in mint condition (was mostly used in studio situations). Was purchased new in 2007; I am the orignal owner.

This semi-hollow balances a bit better than other semi-hollow Modulus basses (they usually tend to be very neck heavy since the body is lighter) because lighter Gotoh tuners were used.

Specs:

Figured walnut top
Semi-hollow alder body
Bartolini pickups
Aguilar OBP-3 preamp
Modulus hardshell case
Modulus warranty
Switchable mids (switch between a mid center frequency of 400 Hz or 800 Hz)

In terms of sound, the bass sounds like any Modulus should: clear/vibrant highs, full low end sustain, no neck dead spots, punchy mids. The semi-hollow body definitely gives it a more characterful, less sterile sound and some nice added warmth/woodiness that most Modulus basses do not have.

$3000 shipped. Questions welcome.

More pics soon:

Here's some YouTube clips of the Q6 in action (DI into a Focusrite ISA430). Enjoy!

Forgot to mention that another strap pin was installed to allow for two different playing angles. It's not shown in the pictures above though (they were taken before it was installed).

Thanks for the offers, nothing solid yet--keep 'em coming!

That is a very nice looking bass! I am holding out hope that one day I can find a 4-string version of this bass...

Which volume knob is installed on the bass? The traditional one, or that larger one?

I have a larger knob installed just for easier repeatability in studio sessions, but I do have the traditional Modulus one. I plan to send both to the buyer. Thanks!

Listened to the first clip. Pretty killer sound and vibe -- dig your drummer, too.

Hi kotzman,

It is indeed 17mm--kinda hard to judge from the pics, I know.

Thanks for looking!
