I just bought this beauty that Vic recently had for sale, but I'm just not comfortable with the 17mm string spacing so I'm offering it back up to the TB community.
Asking only what I paid for it! SOLD! $1,750.00 shipped and insured in the continental US.
Here's a link to Vic's previous post: Modulus Quantum 5 fretless - RARE model!
This is a 2006 Modulus Q5 unlined fretless with a gorgeous custom flame walnut top. It produces all of the wonderful woody, growly, and "mwaaa" type fretless tones that we all know and love. Modulus graphite necks are fantastic, and this is no exception. It has a great profile, and feels very fast.
It has an alder body behind the walnut top, and weighs about 9.7 pounds. Excellent balance. It has Bartolini soapbar style pickups, and the NTMB 3 band preamp. It is in virtually new condition, or "dead mint" as we say.
Nut: 1.85”, 24th "fret": 2.75”. String spacing at bridge: 17mm 35" string scale.
It comes with the original Modulus hard case, also in mint condition.

I'm sure if it wasn't for the 17mm ... I wouldn't have ever seen it. Good thing is wasn't 18mm or I'd be doing something I shouldn't.
Good luck with the sale, BUMP!

I was the original owner and this thing is a killer, really fantastic playability and tonal range. I chickened out on the unlined neck in favor of fretlines, but the thing is just a wonderful instrument. The string spacing didn't bother me. Spencer is a top notch TBer too, somebody buy this!! Now!! |

Don't miss your chance to own this wonderful bass. It's truly one of the best looking and best sounding fretless basses I have ever come across.

Folks, if you're wierded out by the fact it's being flipped by the guy who ended up with it after me, don't be. This bass is THE STUFF. I ONLY flipped it because (once again) I had to learn the lesson I just don't have it in me to be a fretless player (again). This is a GREAT bass at a great price! |

This bass is in immaculate condition and it really has "The Tone". VERY fast neck with killer looks and playability. What more could you want?
I'm just more comfortable with a little wider string spacing.
Have you seen what these are going for new $$$$? And this one still has the plastic on the control cavity cover. Absolutely "mint"!
Honestly, it really is a steal at $1,750.00! |
