Listed here is my MTD 535-24 purchased brand new in Late August 2009 from Glenn at Austin Bass Traders. It is a tremendous instrument that I never thought I'd sell, but other purchases and new directions brings this new bass to market.
At the same time I bought this one, I purchased a 635-24 in Blackened Redwood/Black Limba that has just taken all my play time up. Earlier this week, I pulled the trigger on another 635 "Marilyn" Fretless, so I am up to my earholes in MTD's now. really just playing 6'ers now...
Hence the sale... This bass was purchased new by me, as mentioned above, and has less than 5 minutes of play time on it. It is not "near mint", it is brand new... It has lived in its case in my temperature controlled studio, since new, and it flawless and beautiful - everything you'd hope for a new MTD. Exquisite figured Maple FB and gorgeous Walnut top. The back is the nicest Ash I have seen, bar none.
Glenn's comments on the instrument are as follows: "Hi Mike,
I just plugged it in again, and "visited" with it for a few minutes.
It is nothing short of an "amazing" bass. The neck is really fine. Not too thin, and not too thick. It just sounds incredible. Really has great authority, and power. Congratulations! I'm putting it in the vault for you.
Talk soon,
Best to you,
Glenn"
I am into this for $4400. I realize once you drive a new car off the lot, things change. I'll list this at a price that will be higher than most MTD's that have been touched/played would sell for in the hopes that its buyer will recognize the significant value gained by not buying new from a dealer. There will be cheaper MTD 535-24's out there - there just won't be any newer, or in as desireable wood combinations. It is Serial Number 1866. Listed for sale at $3750 I'll cover CONUSA ground shipping and will accept cash, checks, paypal. Comes with original hardshell case and all original paperwork. Have had many requests for trades. I'm going to be picky because of recent purchases - cash is king. Still, I'm open to the right MTD's, Skjold's, Sadowsky NYC's, and Alleva-Coppolo's. Always interested in premium Studio Gear (pre's, mic's, ADC's DAC's, etc.) Preamps that would interest me would be Mike Pope or Millenia. You can try me on anything, but hoefully this gives you an idea on what I like. Again, cash takes priority!

Just beautiful........... | deichman, let me know if there is any way I can help make this work for you - happy to help in any way reasonable!
TB Brothers, thanks for the positive comments - the pix just don't show the beauty of this bass - it is a jaw-dropper when you open up the case...

Weight: nothing official, but coming just under 9lbs. with unofficial bathroom scale method and waving wet thumb in air (and comparing to my MTD 635's it makes sense) Lightest 535 I have ever owned and hefted, FWIW...
Best,
Mike
