I have a MTD Kingston 5 String Fretless Passive Bass for sale for
$325 shipped
obo. Basswood body, maple neck, ebanol fretboard. Great fretless mwah sound. 19 mm spacing. 35" scale. I really want to buy the MTD Kingston fretted in the classifieds.
The Good.
The neck is straight as an arrow, and has great action. The neck on this bass is amazing and I absolutely fell in love with MTD basses because of it. I moved from a 4 string to a 5 string fretless and it is just to much! I just don't have time learn fretless, I have two kid's under two. If you want to try a fretless, this is a great bass.
The Bad.
Could use new pots. The tone knob is a little scratchy at times. Not bad. There is a small crack in the back of the neck. I adjusted the truss rod and there is room in both directions and it does not widen or make the crack smaller. I have no idea what it is from, it was there when I got the bass. You will not even know it is there. If it bothers you, a little wood filler or epoxy and a wet sand would make it disappear. Some markings from roundwounds.
Would trade for the same bass in a fretted version, or another 5 string MM style bass, Avatar 12 or 212, Nice SX (old headstock) 5 string. Make me an offer.
Here is the same bass, in the used section of Guitar Center for $599
