FS: MTD Kingston KZ6 & KZX

Sign in to disble this ad
Both of these awesome instruments are in EXCELLENT condition. The KZX (5er of course) was bought new 4 months ago, and played just enough to know what a gem these MTDs are. The KZ6 I bought new just one month ago, intending to mod it as others have. If I end up keeping it, I will probably keep it stock. I have ZERO complaints with the output or tone as it is. The ONLY reason that I am selling these recently acquired prized possessions is to pay some totally unforeseen bills. Being the typical struggling musician that I am, I have an older standby bass to gig with. As soon as I am back on my feet, I will buy these exact MTDs again. That is how perfect they are in my opinion.

Asking Price.... MTD KZ6 825.00 + shipping

MTD KZX 1250.00 + shipping

Thanks.
OK the KZX is no longer for sale. Although the KZ6 price is a steal for a practically new bass; I am dropping the price to a CRAZY price of 725.00 plus shipping. If it doesn't sell in 3 days, I will be past my emergency anyway, somehow. Last chance for a steal...

Thanks Guys...And yes the KZX is rather spellbinding, in more ways than one. Knowing that the only color available is black, I was shocked to see the finish on this one. I"m not much of a photographer. But if someone so desires, I can provide more info and pictures.

what's the difference between a KZX and a KZ5, other than the black finish?

I've never owned or played a stock KZ5, but from what I'm told it is a major difference. Technically, the electronics are the only difference. The KZX comes with Bartolini pickups and A Bart preamp as well. I would assume that the KZ5 sounds similar to my KZ6. Which, unlike a lot of others, I am quite pleased with the sound of the stock KZ. It is by no means nearly as versatile as the KZX, especially having the option of passive or active, but still very much acceptable to me. But still, when comparing the two, quite different. The KZX is not just acceptable: It is exceptional....IMHO

I'm not really looking to trade at this point: thanks anyway. I am only selling to raise some quick cash. At least that was the plan. Actually, I played both of these MTD's at a Christmas Party gig two nights ago. I'm having second thoughts about selling "all that I need Musically" to get out of a temporary tight spot. Heck, gold prices are good these days. Maybe I'll take a look in the old jewelry box, and keep these babies.

If only...

The exact moment that I get my Christmas bonus you will be rid of that ZX model. I pray that the timing works out for both of us.
