I purchased this bass recently and was very surprised by the quality, condition, and playability however I find myself playing my Steinberger more if I want to go active. The electronics have been upgraded to the EMG J set with the active 18 volt BTC preamp. The upgrade seems to have been professionally done by the prior owner because it is very tidy work and sounds great. Here is a link to the original thread for more detail and additional pics... (sorry about the smudges on my pics but the bass in near perfect with 1 small clearcoat scratch on the back).
