I do not want to do this. I REALLY do not want to do this but I'm about to close on my dream house and I'm digging into the corners of the sofa to pull everything together so I have to suck it up and part with one of the coolest basses I've EVER owned.
Here we have a Hot-Rodded MTD Z5 with Audere Preamp and Nordstrand Dual Coils. Here are the specs:
Body wood: Mahogany
Top Wood: Burl Maple
Neck: Maple
Fretboard: Rosewood
Pickups: Nordstrand DC5'
Preamp: Audere 4 Band w/ Z-Mode Switch
Bridge: Hipshot A
String spacing is 19MM at bridge
The pickups are EACH wired with a switch that will allow them to be placed in Parallel, Single Coil, or Series. There is also a switch that will allow you to switch the <span 4 band preamp to Hi, Mid, or Lo impedance. FYI, all upgrade work was done by Pete Skjold and it is impeccable.
Condition is excellent - There is a small (pea size) ding in the finish by the back strap button and a small scratch on the neck that the previou owner buffed out with 0000 steel wool and is now nearly nonexistant.
If I wasn't paring my collection down to the bare minimum, this one wouldn't be going anywhere but I gotta do what I gotta do.
