Well i'm gonna have to switch to playing my backup Traben, i would like to keep this but as they say life happens. This is a 2006 MTD Z5 with Satin Amber finish with maple neck and fretboard that i have had for about 2 years. I've played several shows with this bass and have had absolutely zero problems out of it. With the upgrades on this bass you can dial in a wide array of tones from a modern hi-fi sound to the classic jazz bass tone as well. I've owned Ken Smith, Warwick, Zon and this bass is as good as every one of those.
The bass has several upgrades, Hipshot tuners and a Hipshot bridge. Nordstrand pickups with an Audere 9v Z mode preamp, the pre has bass, treble, mid, volume, and blend as well as 3 3way toggles for splitting the coils and also the z-mode switch, and a small blue LED light for a battery indicator, all in all a very nice unit. When i bought the bass the neck was also smoothed down a small amount and now has a natural finsih on the back of the neck, however it still retains the a-symmetrical neck profile and is very comfortable.
The bass has a few cosmetic flaws there are about 6 small nicks on the bottom side of the bass as well as one on the side of the electronics cavity. If you click on my photo link you can see all of these my thumb is next to them to give you a reference. Three of the saddles are showing some wear but i prefer the rustic look anyway if you don't you could easily spray them with a coat of paint and they would look brand new. Overall still a solid 9 out of 10
The bass will ship with a well used Roadrunner gigbag but the bass will be boxed and packed at a UPS store with an email of the tracking number to follow.
