FS: MTD ZX5

OK fellow TB'ers, I have listed this bass a few times before, turned down a few decent offers for trades, and outright sales. Not really wanting to part with this gem, I have exhausted every option that I had in order to hang on to it. As my current situation requires, I am ready to move this bass and go forward.

MTD KZX 5
The MTD KZX has the sort of features you would never expect to find on such an affordable, production model bass. Michael Tobias knew exactly what he wanted for this bass when designing it, which is why you'll notice that this model is only available as a 5-String. Wow, Bartolini pickups, preamp, and active electronics, standard? That's right--Mr. Tobias knows how much bass players love Bartolinis, which is why he has outfitted each and every Kingston ZX with them. The onboard preamp has controls for volume, pickup panning, bass, mid, and treble. The body is made of carved Mahogany and is tastefully topped off with a striking Burled Maple, finished in a breathtaking translucent black gloss finish. That asymmetrical neck features an exceptionally comfortable 35-inch scale with 24 medium jumbo frets, for reaching all the way down from the nether-regions of Llow B up to the apex of Mount High G. The special design quick-release bridge features 3/4-inch spacing for really digging into your riffs. The bridge, along with the rest of the hardware, is finished in smoked chrome to coordinate with the translucent finish on the body. Plus, the dual-action truss rod ensures the neck will stay straight and rigid for as long as you have it!

The MTD Kingston ZX is made with a specific bassist in mind: the active player who needs a versatile tone-machine in an eminently attractive, affordable package. The onboard electronics are capable of handling everything from jazz to hard rock at the turn of a knob, so you're ready for whatever the gig throws your way. With a name like Michael Tobias, you know can't go wrong, and with the KZX, that custom shop MTD sound is more affordable than ever!

.......Most ad descriptions, IMHO are pretty-much tongue in cheek blurbs. I quoted this one because it is actually spot-on. Nothing against other modded KZ's (I had a KZ6 too, I speak from experience here), the ZX5 is "born" ready and plays and sounds like a dream. This bass is less than 1 year old, in immaculate condition, and ships in a hardshell case. Still worth every penny of the 1800.00 that I paid, and that they still sell for, I am looking to put a huge smile on the face of first taker with 1095.00 plus shipping. OBO by Friday...

If someone is paying attention, they are going to get a heck of a deal on a great instrument here.

Yap, this is a hack of deal. I just wish I had some scratch. Good Luck, I'm sure there will be a lucky buyer for this winner.

I have the maple neck version signed and numbered #15 and I love it......but can't really handle 5's! If i had "toss around money" I would love to have this as the mate to my first run maple neck beauty! These are KILLER sounding basses!

I have the exact same bass and can't believe you're letting it go that cheap. Anybody who is seriously considering this should just go ahead and steal, err, buy it before this person comes to his senses.

Very well stated....

In all honesty, I know that this bass is worth A LOT more. I simply put a price out front that I was sure would get an immediate response. Only because I am in need of cash....I can not believe that it is still here. Perhaps when the deal of the century comes along, many are afraid because of the old" too good to be true" mentality. Hopefully someone will realize: This is the REAL Thing. I don't believe that this type of deal will be easy to find again.
