*** PRICE DROP to $2900 ***
Time to move this on to someone who will play it: my Sadowsky is getting all the play time at church these days. Bass has no significant cosmetic or functional issues, and will come with MTD hard case. Standard MTD electronic package with 3-band pre and 3-way mid switch, rosewood board, alder body, really pretty flame/burl maple top with dark accent line.
I am not the first owner, and others on this board can attest to the unique tone possibilities of this bass relative to most other MTD's. This is an extremely versatile instrument which is equally at home with modern and more vintage tone possibilities - IMO much more flexible than the "prototypical" ash/wenge MTD spec. If my church sound guy could handle anything other than a Fender type bass in the mix it would not be up for sale.
The pic above is from the retailer who sold it new, obviously, and I should have some newer pics in a day or two if I can get my digital camera to behave. Took some with my Iphone but they aren't too great and make it look way more yellowish in color than it does in person.
$2900 (USPS MO or Paypal ONLY) takes it, including ground shipping to the lower 48. No international sales - Hawaii or Alaska will be negotiable. The only trades I would consider would be an ash/maple Sadowsky NYC Vintage 5, Nordy VJ5, or newer Skjold 5 (no 4 stringers)... please don't volunteer anything else, I'll just say no or politely ignore you.
Will be happy to discuss things with you by phone or email - PM me and I'll send you my info.

Mix those hi-fi, crystal clear electronics with the warmth and fatness of alder and rosewood, and you've got magic on your hands. Truly an incredible instrument. |

But my self-imposed rule is that I don't keep basses that I'm not playing out, so here it is.

Soft spot for me because it was the reason I met the original owner...and have since gained a valued friend. I was very happy for him when he bought it...anyone else and I would've been just jealous.
Well stated in the original post, but this is a bass that could be used on just about any gig. No doubt about cutting through the mix, but it does so with lots of manners. |

You can just email him the serial# and he'll usually get back to you within a day or so with the offical word document with all the specs. |

Get your self a direct box with a Db pad on it, or turn the gain inside down low and play that thing. Thats a beautiful bass, you don't wear the same clothes every sunday to church, then why play the same bass. MTD4LYFE |
