So I couldn't pass up a Dargie Big Al 4SSS that came available last week and my other Big Al is my baby, so this is the one that has to go. Its a beautiful White Pearl finish. One of the more flexible single humbucker instruments around. It has the 4 band preamp from the Bongo and switches for active/passive and series/parallel. Its a great sounding bass and is just over 8.5lbs, so its a pleasure to play. Bass is in perfect condition and comes with a clear pickguard and a black pickguard. Will ship in the original case.

Can be yours shipped for $1100.
Might consider a trade+cash deal for an iPad2, Hollowbody of some sort...like a Jack Casady or Eastwood or Asian Hofner Club (no violin bass) or a P or J in a funky finish (love Burgundy Mist) would be cool too. Interested in Bergantino AE Series cabs as well.

Cool basses! I love EBMM. They at least try to explore beyond the basic shapes that a lot of other companies stick to. I understand why you like the SSS version. EBMM multi pick up basses kick major butt IMO.

I just purchased a Bongo from a fellow TBer. A Big Al is going to be next!

Good luck with your sale!

Do not underestimate the versatility of the Big Al H. IMO, the most impressive standard preamp available today--4 band EQ, passive tone knob, series/parallel and the passive volume is the same level as the active flat volume. When you combine the options with your picking technique, you can get many different usable sounds.

They're good. They're really, really good.

I'd think nut width is available on the MM website.

Hi, sorry I missed this until just now. Nut Width is 1.5" just like a Sterling. The Big Al neck is actually identical to the Sterling neck if you are familiar with one of those.
