*SOLD*
This is a Musicman Bongo 4H in the discontinued Desert Gold finish (a very attractive finish, IMHO). I ordered this bass about three years ago and it has a total of about 40 hours of playing time on it. It plays well and sounds very good; I’ve just become accustomed to slightly thinner jazz bass necks and I’m not playing this bass much, so this one will go to someone else who will (hopefully) play it more than I have.
The bass is in very good condition – it doesn’t have any of the headstock dings that are frequently seen on Bongos. There is some light swirling on the pick-guard from finger-style playing, but nothing out of the ordinary. There are a couple of small dimples in the clear-coat on the face of the body (not through the finish) that I couldn’t get to show up in photos. The rest of the body is free of dings or scratches that I can see – if there are any scratches, they’re very light, so let’s call the condition 9/10. I installed Ernie Ball chrome strap locks on the bass and I’ll include both ends of the locking system with the bass when it ships. It is currently wearing D’Adarrio nickel round-wound strings.
The weight is approximately 9.2 pounds according to the bathroom scale method. The bass comes with the original hard-shell case which has a few light scuffs and one small puncture wound (pictured) but is otherwise in good condition and most importantly, functional.
$950 packed, shipped and insured in the continental U.S., Paypal preferred; I’m not interested in any trades at the moment – sorry. Local pickup in the San Diego area can also be arranged if you’re nearby.
Thanks for looking,
Mark
