FS: MusicMan StingRay - Trans-Orange w/Matching HS

I got this beauty in a recent trade and try as I might I'm just not a Sting Ray kind of guy. I don't know what it is but I've tried several over the years and they just don't work for me.

So as a result I'm offering this one back up to the TB community. The finish on this one is kind of a "transparent orange" that looks almost "peachy" color in certain light. Very pretty indeed and the matching headstock really completes the look IMO.

I believe this one was made in 1999 and it is in excellent condition. One tiny chip in the finish on the lower cutaway and a very minor nick on the headstock that's very hard to see.

No playing issues either. It plays and sounds like a String Ray should. Currently it's strung up with a new set of Ernie Ball "Slinkys". Great low end out of this baby!

The previous owner installed a Drop D tuner that works perfectly but I will also include the original tuner.

Price lowered to $899.00 including shipping in the CONUS.

It will ship in it's original molded Musicman hard shell case.

PLUS now you will get a total of four pickguards (Tortoise, White, Black & White and Clear) at no additional charge!

Here are some photos:

Wow, I used to own a bass just like this about 1999. It had a white PG though and no hipshot. Maybe this is my old bass. Either way, it's a beauty!

Spencer has "way too many" cool toys, that's why this really nice bass is up for sale. I need to get some sanity (and some cash) back in my life!

I've got the same bass. No matching headstock but that transorange is just a wicked colour. Its killer. Someone scoop this up.

Interested in a 2008 American standard Jazz 5? Black body maple board. I have a drop d tuner installed and it's strung E A D G C. Could be convinced to throw in an Audere J3 pre to sweeten the deal.

Do getting some sanity and some cash really go hand in hand with Talkbass?

Wow, that's a beauty. That might be the most beautiful 'Ray I've seen, with the possible exception of a few Buttercreams. I know what you mean though. I just got a Classic 'Ray (my second-ever 'Ray). I want to love it so bad, but it just doesn't have the same "comfort factor" as some of my other basses. But with all the 'Ray lovers on here, yours will go quickly. Maybe even by the time I finish typing this!

Thanks Jeff, I hope you are right. I have had some very nice trade offers but I'm going to hold out a little longer to see if there are any reasonable cash offers.

This "trans-orange" and the "buttercream" models are my favorite colors as well..............
