I'm really after a British buyer for this, but I thought I'd share here just to give you guys some gas. Time to see if this one can find a good home as it doesn't get much use these days (from this graphite neck bass addict).
I'm selling a rather nice Fender Jazz here. It's an MIM body with a Geddy Lee neck and it's fitted with EMG
Js and a Badass II bridge. The tuners on the Geddy neck were swapped for the better quality Fender ones before I got it. Currently has a b/w/b scratchplate, I also have a w/b/w one in the same pattern that I'll throw in to give you the choice. Hell, I'll even throw in a set of standard MIM Jazz pickups for passive SC fans. The bass has Schaller strap lock buttons and Rotosound Swing Bass roundwounds 45-105.
As it currently is, the bass is very much a "Jazz on steroids" type thing, very modern sounding and a total slap monster. Definitely not what I would call "vintage"! And you won't see many like this one, of course. The condition of the instrument is superb. The action is set nice and low and the bass is really playable.
Price is tricky. A new Geddy is now getting close to £900 and a new MIM is about half that. EMG J's are £130ish these days and Badass bridges are becoming a very expensive rarity. So, I'm going to ask for
£500 firm for this one, as I think I could easily get that if I parted it out. But that would be a shame, in my opinion, because it's pretty nice just as it is. I don't really know what the market will make of that price, but I do know that it's one hell of a bass for the money. Local collection or meet up would be ideal and give you a chance to check it out (I'm in Wolverhampton).
