This is a brand new Nordy VJ5 in Sherwood Green. Purchased it directly from Carey Nordstrand to have a five string and just never used it. I guess I'm a four string guy now.

The bass has an alder body, Madagascar rosewood fingerboard with clay dots, 2 Nordy NJ5 pickups and an 18 volt two-band Burr Brown on-board preamp. This is a premium upgraded preamp that was installed at the Nordstrand shop. It plays perfect and has an amazing setup. The bass sounds great passive and when the preamp is kicked in you have almost endless tonal capability. Chrome hardware. Tort shell pick guard. Comes with a new black Pro Tec gig bag. This bass has not been used so there is no wear, imperfections, swirling, etc. It is essentially brand new and has been played once. $2800 shipped in the US only.

Nice bass!
Do you know what the weight is?
I am such a sucker for Rosewood FB's. My gear can always add brightness, but warmth has to come from the axe.......IMHO
Beautiful! Good luck with the sale

Gonna be hard to do. Burr-Brown didn't actually make preamps, they made ICs, including the first solid-state op-amp. I'm guessing it's one of these used in the preamp circuit.

Texas Instruments bought them out over a decade ago, I suppose it's possible that TI still makes that op-amp, or another vendor made a knockoff.

Is this a Classic (34" scale) or Modern (34.5")? Weight? 60's or 70's spacing on the pickups? Thanks!

I think he means it is a nordy preamp with the upgraded burr-brown chip. THere was some talk of this by Carey in the nordy thread.

Bump for a great bass and great seller, a Nordy 60's VJ5 - killer! This is going to make someone very happy. Nordy's are second to none!

BTW - The tone on this beauty will be a more immediate quick response thing with the burr brown chip.

For those that have asked this is a VJ5 Classic (34" scale and 60's wound pickups in 60's position). The preamp is a Nordy pre with the Burr Brown chip.

The bass weights 9.4 lbs according to my scale.
