Selling my like new condition Nordy VJ5 Classic in Sherwood Green. The Bass was completed by master builder Carey Nordstrand in December of 2010. Less than 1 year old and has never exposed to a smoking environment, never exposed to a pet environment, and is a great bass.

The specs of the bass are as follows:

- Alder body finished in Sherwood Green Metallic
- Maple (Satin Finish) neck
- Madagascar rosewood fingerboard and parchment dots (Sounds right in the middle of East Indian rosewood and Brazilian rosewood)
- 2 Nordy NJ5 pickups (wide)
- 60's Pickup spacing
- 18 volt two-band preamp with Burr Brown circuit
- Controls Master Volume (Active Passive Push Pull)/Pickup Blend/Tone/Treble Bass Boost Cut
- 20 fret
- 34" scale
- Chrome Hardware
- 9.4 lbs
- Premium Grey Protec Contego Bag
- Low to medium low Action with no fretbuzz or deadspots (what else would you expect from Carey Nordstrand)

This bass gives you that incredible Fender Jazz Tone from when fender was fender. Sounds like a 5 string 1962 Fender Jazz bass. Incredible!! You will love the tone, fit, finish, and feel.

Would cost nearly $3500 if ordered new with a 6 month wait. The condition of this bass is a 9.5 /10. As close to new as a used bass gets will even include the original invoice.

Produces a great vintage tone in passive and the active bass sounds uncolored and pure. It you dig Carey Nordstrand's Basses, this one is for you.

Had a question regarding what I ment by wide pickups and are they single coil.

Answer:

Cary Nordstrand makes wide single coil pickups. The normal 5 string pickups are just wider than the strings and do not have the same look as a 4 string bass. These wide single coil pickups are extended slightly for a better look, makes for a great thumb rest, and visually looks like a vintage 4 string bass with an extra string.

Take a look at a Sadowsky 5 vs my Nordy 5 and you will notice the appeal of Carey's wide single coil pickups.

Bump for an awesome bass, I was floored when this was made. I was building for Nordstrand at the time.

This is a totally solid, great playing bass. Carey has cut production of these basses and the price is going up big time.
This could be an even better deal than you realize for a killer bass.
