OK - up for sale, reluctantly. Given the times we live in, would also consider these trades, +/- cash as appropriate (5-strings only):
Sadowsky
Nordy or Nordstrand
Skjold
Fodera
EBMM Stingray 5 HH or HS
Nordstrand NX6, custom built for me, alder body with absolutely sick burl redwood top, maple set neck, cocobolo board with custom inlay, FatStack pickups with coil tap, Nordstrand 3-band preamp, preamp bypass option and passive tone control. No issues except for typical light scratching next to the neck joint at the C-string from slapping, too light to show up in pics.
I traded this bass once before and FedEx cracked the seam between the fingerboard and neck at the nut during shipping. Carey fixed it hiimself and refinished it and I got it back. I can't tell it from new condition - per Carey and Stew it is as good as new. While it was there he dropped the Nordstrand pre in instead of the Aggie OBP3 that it had before, and IMO that was the crowning touch for this bass. Price reflects both repaired status and electronics upgrade.
$2800 USPS money order or Paypal (prefer echeck) shipped to lower 48 states, will ship professionally packed in gig bag.
And yes... it sounds as good as it looks.

I just don't use the C-string in what I'm playing now. Truthfully, I don't have to sell it financially, but I decided a long time ago I wouldn't keep basses that I didn't play regularly, and I'm using my fivers pretty much all the time. And I do have some places that I would rather direct that $$$ into than basses.

Carey is just as much artist as he is luthier. Combine that with the fact that he's a hell of a great guy, and there's no reason to ever buy anything else!
If I had those kinds of funds, this would be on its way to me already! Good luck.

Bump it up... it is, alas, too rich for my blood!
