FS: Nordstrand Nordy VJ5, Black, Rosewood

Hi Everyone,

I have a Nordstrand Nordy VJ5 in excellent condition for sale. This was on the TB a few months ago, and I bought it thinking it would rekindle the dormant bassist in me. It's a fantastic instrument, as good as advertised/reviewed here and elsewhere, but I as great as it is, I still reach for one of my guitars. (This was also true of the various MTDs, Laklands, Fenders, Yamahas, and so on, I've owned. I'm just a guitar player now...) So rather than having it sit in my closet, it's back on the market. Comes with Nordstrand gig bag which is on the bed behind the Nordy.

More pics are here.

The pups are the big singles. I emailed Carey about the electronics. Here's his reply:

Ok, you have one of two set ups...

1) volume on volume, tone (pull passive), mid(down 400hz, up 1khz), treble on bass
2) volume on tone, blend (with center detent), mid(down 400hz, up 1khz, treble on bass

It has the push/pull pot, so can be switched to passive. Price is $1950 shipped and paypalled in the continental US. Not interested in trades. Thanks for looking.

Joe

That's my old bass. It has Big Single Pup with nord preamp.

Vol/Vol stack, Passive, Mid, Bass/Treble stack

is the preamp setup if I am remembering correctly.

It's badass bass!!

60's spacing.

Good luck with sale!

Hi Yougheo,

Thanks for the info. I meant to ask Carey about it but it slipped my mind. Yes, it is a great bass, but way too much bass for me to keep around given I'm really not playing bass these days.

Correct on the Beatles, but not on the bonus. I was thinking along the lines of "atta boy!"

Having played this bass, I can attest to it's overall "badness". It plays really really well and sounds great. good luck with the sale.

Thanks! It's a great bass but superfluous to my needs.
