For sale is my NS Design CR4M. I've owned the bass for five years or so and have regularly gigged with it until the last two. Please PM me if interested.
The Old Town Pickin' Parlor in Arvada drilled out the original fingerboard face dots and filled them with ebony, then they installed side dots for me. The face dots confused the heck out of me and the side dots are just what I needed to reference intonation on a loud stage.
I installed a neck heel from Bob Gollihur's music shop and it now mirrors a perfect "D" neck with all of the reference points from a standard accoustic basss. The heel is applied with double stick tape, so if you need a Eb neck, it can be moved.
The bass also comes with the original NS Design bag, the original black tripod stand and the end pin stand. I primarily use the end pin stand and have it set up to mirror my acoustic upright. On the end pin stand, the bass really "moves" with me. The black NS bag does have a ~1" hole in it through the outer fabric where it rested against a Halogen lamp until I smelled it. It is there, but other than the hole, the case is in excellent shape.
I have the original NS strings, a full set of used Pirastro Obligato strings and it is currently strung with a mix of Permanents (G/D) and Spirocore Mittels (A/G). I do have a well used full set of Spirocore Weichs too.
The bass has great pizz and arco tone and it doesn't have any feedback issues when playing live. I mainly play classical and jazz, but also play some bluegrass and R&B/Rock and Roll with it. Playing this bass in the Winters of Colorado is truly a joy with no worries about taking a my acoustic upright bass out in the snow and the cold.
Payment is cash for a local pick up and my preference is payment via PayPal.
Thanks for looking,
John
