Good day everyone,

It pains me to do this, but I need to downsize and grab some cash.

Up for your consideration – a beautiful NS Designs CR4M. There is a very small ding on the back bottom corner, but other than that the bass is super clean. Both plays and sounds beautiful – I have been using it for restaurant gigs with my trio and there isn’t a night that goes buy that I don’t draw a crowd around the stage asking about it. It makes a big impression and plays like butter.

I recently purchased an upgraded gigbag from Bass Central in a vibrant red so I always know where it is. The stand is also in perfect condition, and the bass is strung with the NS strings.

I really need the cash right now... $1600 you pay shipping.

Thanks for your time, and have a great day.

I'm debating between one of these and an Azola Bug Bass. I play in a "restaurant quartet" and this type of bass works great - for both sound and attention. I read these like to eat batteries in the preamp? How long can you go on a pair of batteries? Is the bridge height adjustable on these. I thought I read that it was. How's the action? I'm using a friends WAV4 right now but would like something a little better - sounding and playing.

Howdy Steve,

Thanks for the post... funny you should ask about batteries. I have been playing mine 2 or 3 times a week (three hour slots) for the last five months. Last Friday I was so frustrated - I couldn't get a good tone out of the bass, sounded distorted and thin. I had totally forgotten about the batteries. It was the very first time I had opened up the compartment - I was surprised to find two 9 volts. Lucky my guitar player had an extra, I only usually carry one spare. New batteries installed, problem solved. I would say the battery life is exceptional.

The bridge heigth is indeed adjustable. I am not a "traditional" upright player so I like the action low. Gives a more electric fretless mwaaaaaah kind of thing. I used to have the same bass in 5 string with the action high, and it was more thumpy but I really had to dig in which is not my thing.

The WAV is nice, but the CR's are miles ahead in fit finish and sound. With the pickup option on the bass you can dial in just about any tone you need.

Have a great day,

Tom
