Up for sale is my yellow/orange translucent Highly Modified/upgraded SX Jazz bass. Bought it from a TB'er a few months back. Great bass.. just don't play it as i recently got a new bass.
Anyhow about this beauty. Solid ash body, Maple/rosewood neck, REAL binding and perloid blocks.
UPGRADES: Kent Armstrong Hand Wound Pickups. There are the Armstrongs that Kent himself does and they are some of the best sounding passive pickups i've ever heard. This bass absolutely kills with them. Excellent Slap tone, with the tone knob opened up wide this bass sounds almost active/modern when slapped. Really nice over all tone.
Bridge is from a MIA 1996 Fender Jazz. Heavier than normal and adjustable string width.
Peghead has been refinished match body and to resemble '70s jazz bass.
This bass is not light. probably in the 11-12 lb range, but it is very solid and funky.
Needs a pickguard if that's your thing.. i think it looks cool as is.. but that's me...
Sound: Super punchy, warm, growly and bright if you have it wide open. Excellent for slap.
This bass KILLS any entry level fenders my a country mile. And it's totally cool looking to boot.
