FS: Omega Vampyre (the best bass for metal)

After so much deliberation, and GAS for a 5 string, i am finally deciding to sell this bass made by Jared Carpenter, who made basses under the name JC Basses.

The design was obviously inspired by a cross between a Warwick Vampyre and an Alembic Triple Omega. The headstock is a take on Moser's Widow design.

The specs are:

4 String
Bubinga Body
Red Wood Burl Top
Wenge Neck
Wenge Fretboard
Kahler Tremolo
Hipshot Tuners
EMG P/J Pickups
18v Nordstrand 3B-5b Preamp
Bolt-on
All Black Hardware
Made in the USA

when i had the bass made, i was aiming for that modern, boutique sound, and this bass nailed it.

something to take note though is that the mids area of the nordstrand pre-amp does not work. i am sure it was some wiring error, and since the bass sounds good as it is, it was never a problem.

PRICE: $1,300 (shipped)

It will not come with a hardcase, because the only i have here (MM 30th anniv case) does not fit it. i will however pack it really really well using an old warwick gig bag. i will also detach the neck from the body and take pains to make sure no parts will be lost.

anyway, here's what the bass sounds like in different amp settings and scenarios:

Classical Thump (v.wooten) - some guy who can't come close to VW - YouTube

Jc Basses Nerubian - YouTube
