SOLD, PAID FOR AND SHIPPED
Well, I never thought I'd get the opportunity to own a Sadowsky Metro but what do you know, never say never! Unfortunately my JB has to go to provide me funds for my new to me Hybrid PJ. The Ric is my baby, he stays.
My Fender American Standard is an 09 that I had the opportunity to try before I bought from the good folks at Cream City Music. It was the best feeling JB I found in SE Wisconsin at the time. The first thing I did was put D' Addario Half-Wounds (.105E) on it. The second was to pull the NOISY Fender single coil pups and install
Nordstrand NJ4SEs from Best Bass Gear. What Cary says about the SE's is very true....
NJ4SE
These are a split coil hum cancelling design. They use the same had wound pattern found on our NJ4's but with a finer wire called 43 gauge enamel. The natural character of this design is to have a more pronounced lower midrange, and a slightly muted high end. This makes them exceptionally suited to fingerstryle players that are going for a solo bridge pickup sound with good 'bark' and 'heft'. They are also totally hum cancelling, and great for commonly noisy live situations.
Includes black covers (exposed pole pieces).
The bass is in excellent shape except for one mod I didn't intend, a little ding on the top/side edge of the body. Did that two weeks after I got it. See the picture with the Quarter for reference. Oh well. Other than that it's as good of shape as any bass hanging at GC. I always used a well padded gig bag so the Fender ATA case is spotless. The bass will be shipped in the case, the case protected by double cardboard.
Please, no trade offers. I needa the money. JB American Standards go for around $950 shipped on TB. I paid $230 plus shipping for the pups. I'll let the whole thing go for
$1050 shipped insured to your door. (Continental US only). I will ship to Canada for $100 more. I actually like PayPal and will not ask for a "gift payment". I will work a little on the price if you want to use a USPS Money Order.
FYI: I no longer have the original pups. Sold them last summer.
These are clickable photobucket pictures. The get much bigger.
