Edit 3/27/10: I've decided to throw in the original neck that I defretted many moons ago when I was young and naive (I am now old and naive

). It's not the prettiest, but it does a decent fretless "mwah".
So included with this purchase are:
- 1986 Ibanez Roadstar II Bass with upgraded SD P/J pups
- Ibanez Blazer Neck with heart tuners
- Original Ibanez vintage chainsaw case (free graffiti and mojo)
- Ibanez Roadstar II defretted neck with factory tuners
- Original bent bridge (HEAVY corrosion)
- Original "Made in Japan" neckplate
- A lightly used set of flatwound strings.
There you go....
two basses for the price of 1!!! Pics of the added stuff below....enjoy!
Relisted from a few weeks ago as I recently got the original hardshell case back from my folks.
For your consideration is a 1986 MIJ Ibanez RB650 Roadstar II P/J body mated to a vintage Ibanez Blazer maple neck, complete with heart tuners.
This bass was one of my first real basses in the 80's, and it was loved and my main gigging bass until 1991 (when my Stingray 5 came along...).
You know the quality of builds on these basses.
The stock pups have been replaced with Seymour Duncan Basslines many, many moons ago. I do not have the stock pups. All remaining electronics are stock. The output on the "J" pup is not the greatest, perhaps due to my complete lack of electronic and/or soldering skills. Easily fixable, I'm sure.
The stock bent bridge has been updated to a Gotoh 201 high-mass bridge. I do have the stock bridge if anyone is interested, which shows a bunch of pitting and the original saddle adjustment screws are corroded into place.
I recently slapped some chrome metallic contact paper on the pickguard which spiced the monochromatic black on black look up a bit. It can easily be removed. The pickguard is structurally sound beneath, without the common crack near the output jack. The usual pick scratches, but nothing major.
The body has an assortment of dents and dings, however nothing that would affect the sound of this beauty. The neck pocket is structurally intact without any cracks in the neck pocket.
The neck was acquired last year from TimBosby and is in great shape, however, there is a small gouge on the treble side, 18th fret, which really doesn't bother me, but in the spirit of full disclosure, there you have it.
The hardshell case is the original Ibanez "chainsaw" case in used, roadworn condition. A few minor tolex tears. All latches and hinges work and are intact, although there is moderate corrosion. The interior top has the "egg crate" foam lining, while the case itself has the usual black plush. The graffiti is free of charge.
