The bass sounds awesome and has one of the nicest Fender necks I have ever played, frets show little wear.

Is that P/J pickup configuration really original?

What kind of pickups?

I assume the control knobs are for volume and tone, correct?

What does the switch do? Is it a pickup selector?

I had one of those, in black, just like the one on the
cover of that "Fender Bass Book" (Klaus something).
Great neck!! Make sure those fine adjusters on the bridge
don't fall out since they are hard to find or at least they
were when I needed one.

Question: I recall mine being a "Precision Plus" as
opposed to "Deluxe" (which I thought was a MIM model).
But I am getting old, so anything is possible.

In any case, free bump for a great bass!

the original price of this bass was north of 1K. I can't believe it's still here. I can't believe I haven't bought it myself!

Taking inflation into account this bass would list at close to $1900 today. It was generally considered top of the line at that time.
