Well as much as I hate to part with this bass, priorities dictate that I should. I picked this up early this year in a pawn shop score. First time I had seen a Warwick with a finish like this. I checked the history and received an email from CEO Hans Peter Wilfer, confirming that this was one of 50 made in 1996. It's a flawless (this finish is tough) German Made corvette with the thin C-shaped neck profile. NOT a baseball bat neck. It's also wenge, feels great in the fret hand. Currently strung with DR Black beauties.
Here's the email.

I gigged this a few times, and struggle with switching from my active music man to a passive bass. Too much knob tweaking to make sense. So now I gig with two active basses and this Wick gets zero playing time.
Not being one to let an instrument sit around and not be played I am going to offer it up to TB and the forum over at Warwick.de.
$900 + shipping in a brand new fender gig bag. $1000 + shipping in a brand new TSA SKB case.
This is going up on Warwick.de as well, act now - don't miss out on this rare bass.
EDIT: The finish is like stone or a bowling ball (ITS HARD). You CANNOT leave a fingernail mark in it like you could with a wood finish wick. IT'S TOUGH!
