I picked this up on here about a month ago and its a really great sounding bass that could use a home with someone that will play it. Why am I selling it? I've recently traded for an old L2000 that I'm in love with and this one just isn't getting played.
Per the original for sale thread, which I'll link here, it has Nordstrand J pickups:
FS: '98 Fender American 4 with Nordstrands - $660 OBO
Its a player, some buckle rash, nicks and dings (review the photos they show pretty much all the issues), takes a medium settup with no problems. A fret dressing in the upper frets will probably allow you to go a little lower, but I'm a low action fanatic and still feel comfortable playing this bass.
The mid pot is a little worn out and scratchy feeling, it works, but you can't feel the center detente. I purchased an OEM Fender replacement pot that I'll include in the case free of charge. I never installed it. The tuners appear to be non-original, but work fine.
The price is firm, I can't really entertain trades since I'm clearing out basses unless you've got a sansamp RBI that you want to swap plus cash.
Paypal e-check, or money order is fine. I'll split Fedex ground shipping in the CONUS. (shouldn't end up costing the buyer more than $15, worst case)
