Absolutely no trades and no lowball offers.
I hate to do this, but I need to sell two basses in order to pay for a recent purchase. This American made Fender HRP was only made for two years from 2000-2002! I am the second owner of this bass, and the original owner purchased it directly from Fender. It never saw a showroom floor. The production date on this particular bass is 9/11/00. These are pretty rare these days and I haven't seen an Olympic White in a very long time.
Let’s get the answers to the most common questions out of the way:
It’s 1.625"at the nut, with a Modern C-shaped, 9.5" radius. It weighs a little over 9.5 lbs on the scale. I will include the original tortoise shell pick guard that came with the bass, but I had a replacement made using the original as a guide, by John Polk of Terrapin Guitars. I researched several tortoise shell makers for a couple of weeks and he had the best quality. It is huge improvement over the original and a $90 upgrade. This has not been gigged with heavily, and it’s still in great condition. One minor ding on the back of the neck is due to its encounter with the edge of cymbal. The bass has very minor play wear and nothing through the paint. I really take care of my equipment. The case is in decent condition for a bass that’s 13 years old, but as with many Fender cases from this era, it has a minor latch problem. It can be closed pretty easily, but it’s not perfect. It’s really a stunner in person and sounds absolutely killer. I have not seen an Olympic White HRP come up for sale in a very, very long time. This is currently set up with 50-105 Ernie Ball Cobalts, but I have used DR Sunbeams and Sadowsky and Chrome flats on this and they all sound awesome! I recently A/B’d this next to a new American Deluxe Precision, and this blew it away in the tone department. This was professionally set up by Shawn May, of May Custom Basses, and it’s ready to rock.
