FS only Conklin Seven String GT-7

SOLD

Up for sale is this nice Conklin GT-7. The bass is in excellent condition. It has some minor player wear, but nothing that will show up on camera. There is a tree of life inlay on the fret board that can be removed without leaving any residue. The neck plays like butter and has nice low action. The neck profile is thin, making it real easy to play. Due to my increasing back and neck problems I have to let this one go and find something much lighter. It sucks getting old . The bass sells new at MF for $1269.99, Here’s the writeup from the site.
The Groove Tool 7-stringer bases its awesome tonal capabilities on a body made of tone-rich, lightweight ash topped with figured maple coupled with Bartolini active pickups. The multi-laminate neck is constructed of incredibly stable wenge and purpleheart, carved to an extremely comfortable profile. The headstock is angled back to increase tension over the nut which improves sustain. A beautifully contoured neck heel and deep cutaway body shape gives you unobstructed access to all 24 frets. Conklin's exclusive off-side position markers are easily visible from both the top and side of the fingerboard. The active electronics let you shape your tone from mellow to monstrous and the GT-7 is equipped with Conklin's trademark locking input jack so you'll never again inadvertently pull your plug.

This is NOT a light bass. It weighs in at around 13lbs on my bathroom scale. It it were lighter I’d be keeping it. This bass has an upgraded Hipshot bridge for wider string spacing. (set at 18mm now) The bass will come with the old bridge, a new unopened set of Ken Smith strings, a New roadrunner gig bag, Dunlop strap locks and a nice Italia 5 inch wide leather strap. I’m asking $850 shipped to your door. I will not break the bass apart to ship over seas. Buyer pays shipping for outside the continental U.S of A
Paypal ok. Thanks for looking .

No trades unless you have a 5 string that weighs 7lbs

Bump. I would consider trades if they are 34 scale 5 or 6 string with 18 or 19mm string spacing and under 9 lbs. 8 would be great

I know how you feel, but my back just can't take it anymore. If I'm successful at making the weight reducing gizmo that was suggested from another thread, I just might keep this. It has the best neck I have ever played. It really feels like home to me.

I just bought one of these from another TalkBasser. It hasn't arrived yet, but I'm excited.

People, imho a 7 string is great for folks who've played a bit of guitar in their time. You just tune the top two strings B & E instead of the typical C and F. Presto! You can play your familiar guitar voicings above the 12th fret. It's like having two instruments in one. I can't wait.

I've been looking for a nice 5 string but this really caught my eye for some reason. I'll have to think about it some and send you a PM Doug.
