FS ONLY: Fender American Special P Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for sale only (no trades) is my black and maple Fender American Special P Bass. I bought this bass new in the fall of 2010 and it's been my main work bass and it's seen quite a few gigs and rehearsals. It has Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder's in it and I don't have the original pickups that came with it. Plays and sounds great! One little blemish on the front top corner. It's not really a scratch but presses into the body a bit. (pic below) A little belt rash on the back of the bass up toward the neck joint but the paint isn't chipped. Also a little down below as I swing the bass around a lot when playing. It will come with a Fender hardshell case.
I'm asking $600 shipped for it to the US only.

Pics (serial is blurred in photoshop and not on the bass). On the impression pics...that's light reflecting and not a paint chip.

Both made in the US. This one has the standard bridge and grease bucket tone circuit. Those are the differences I know of.

Tuners (supposedly, the Standard one's are lighter), and "rolled" fingerboard.

I could be wrong,,but I thought that somewhere I read that the American Special "P" Bass has a slightly thinner neck,,not the width at the nut but thinner from the Fret board to the back of the neck.

Nice looking, I miss my P bass with the maple fretboard....

What is the weight on this, my 2008 standard p was close to 10 pounds and was doing a number on my shoulder...

You are correct. The neck is slim from front to rear. The nut is still standard P size. They are also setup for lower action from Fender.

I don't have a scale but it's not 10 pounds.

The neck is slimmer.

The body is about an eigth of an inch thinner also.
So it should be lighter than a standard.

These are nice basses.

Lots of talk about the bass but no interest in the sale of the bass. Thread closed.
