FS ONLY Fender Squier Japan Jazz Bass

I though the pickguard was horrid, I had it off and a buddy saw it and said "leave it like that" so I put some new screws in and did. At first I though someone had painted over a white PG with cheap red paint, but no, it's red/black/red 3 layer. So you get to keep the PG, I'll even install it for shipping.

Cosmetically this has a few light non-paint dings on the top and then has 2 strips of down to the white layer(primer?) paint on the back and one nick that shows the wood.

The neck is amazing, possibly the best playing wooden Jazz Bass neck I've ever played, the truss is magical. The frets are all level, no divots, no issues. Back of neck has a few little things you can feel with your hand but can't really see.

What's annoying is this old school top ground thing, it's come loose on me once before and it wouldn't shock me if it did again although I think I did a pretty good job of correcting it. The metal bends down and then meets the plate(yes, it has ground plates) below the pickup. I just reattached it last time, with some solder it would be a permanent fix.

New(er) nut, and new screws(did you really want the old rusty ones?, they might still be around)) but everything else seems all original. The serial is E8 which puts her 84-89.

This bass, sans pickguard, is really quite stunning.

$450 shipped

If i didn't just pick up a 62' CIJ i would be all over this. The necks are amazing
and this is an awesome price.

Thanks basspro, this was my first Japanese Fender and it blew my mind the first time I played it, it made my Sadowsky Metro seem weak in the neck department (although everything else the Metro excelled at of course).

Bump for a GREAT bass. I picked one up on CL locally and would buy this one for the asking price, if I didn't have to thin my heard.

This does come with a gigbag and I can solder the plates together if anyone is really concerned.
