FS Only: Fodera Emperor Elite 6 and Yin Yang Standard Serial #6

Due to painful financial necessity I am going to have to put these two beauties on the block:

https://picasaweb.google.com/1106274...eat=directlink

I'm looking at $6500 for the Edwards Elite 6 (Emperor-like style with extended B headstock, purple heart over swamp ash, brazilian rosewood fingerboard, rosewood covered fodera/duncan dual coils john east u-retro deluxe preamp, 35" scale, 24 frets, 19mm string spacing, worn OHSC) and $4800 for the YYS - Absolutely mint, OHSC, signed back plate with plain replacement to avoid signature wear. Photo-bombing kitten not included in the price. No trades please.

I want the YYS, but I have to sell my Harley first. Hope it sells soon and good luck on your sales. Great looking Foderas

your 6 string Fodera is a edwards model, not a emperor.

My impression was that the Edwards model is a custom Emperor model with an extended B 3+3 headstock rather than the standard 3+3, in the same manner as the 5 string Emperors can be 2+3 or 3+2, but if it's classed as a separate model entirely, my mistake.

Bummer for your financial woes. Wish I snatched that purple heart 6er when it was at the Lowend. Free bump for some sweet basses.

Thanks. Hopefully down the road once everything is settled with my move/down payments and so on I'll be able to get back in the Fodera game. Fingers crossed.

I don't have weighing scales handy, but the standard weight is around 9lb, and it feels dead on. They don't really vary more than a hamburger's worth either side of that. It's light, but not too light - from what I understand of their weight design standards they feel that much below 8 3/4 is too light to provide the tone they are looking for, but want to keep it not too far above that weight for the sake of comfort.

That unfortunately keeps it off my plate. I have a nerve problem in my shoulder and struggle above 7 pounds. I have a 6.5 pound Beordwell that is a dream, but I always wanted to try a Fodera to see what all the hype is about. I hate that these 2 pounds matter to me. :-(

That sucks, I definitely feel your pain there. I had to stop playing for years due to nerve damage - hence the sn haha. Luckily for me the weight from the strap is over my other shoulder so it doesn't cause any problems.

Beautiful basses! I am curious about the 6 string. So the model is called an " Edwards"? When did Fodera produce it?

the edwards is a custom order bass. I was told from Fodera it is a chambered bass, and they would build them by custom order.

Thanks Dock, I'm far from an expert on all things Fodera. The details given are those on their records for the bass, beyond that I am out of my depth!
