I have a 1998 Ken Smith BSRJ 5 string that has been my standby since I picked her up in 1999. I started playing six string and my ol' standby doesn't get any love. I just picked up another 6'r so it has to go bye bye.

It has a little wear around the front p/u which can be taken care of with some of KS special sauce but I don't have it. Also, I replaced the pre-amp with a new one from Ken because the old one had a bad connection. The P/U plastic on the bridge has a chip and the front has a small crack but they have been there for years and not caused any sound issues.

I was looking at the MTD 6'rs pretty seriously before snagging an Elrick. The specs on the MTD KZ6 and 5s are really close to a smith.

I can get a Ken smith local for this not knocking your bass is it possible there's like a cheaper line by Ken smith Cus these on craigslist are 1000 for three basses!

USA built models will not go for that low. The price for this one is so tempting at such a great price. I wish I had the means to buy it.

Chasfur - this is probably what you are looking at: 3 Ken Smith Design Bass Guitars

These are the Ken Smith Design basses and not of the same caliber. There are older "burner" or BSR "B" series basses which a lot of people love but still are not at the BSRJ level. Then there are a bunch above the level of my bass. No different than a squire vs an american fender.
