Hi Folks,
For sale is a pretty special Lakland Joe Osborn four-string instrument. CLIFF NOTES: $2,200 - $2,000 - shipped CONUS (UPS Ground Insured). Bass is in excellent condition and has some unique specs. DETAILED SPECS:
Serial Number JO202
Alder body, finished in Lake Placid Blue.
Maple neck, ebony board.
Lindy Fralin single coil pickups.
Bartolini NTMB pre-amp.
Controls are Volume (push/pull active/passive), Blend, Midrange, and stacked Bass/Treble. (Note: there is no push/pull frequency selector for the Midrange control.)
Dunlop straplocks.
Also included is the tan/cream G&G hardshell case (in excellent condition), a black pick guard (in used condition w/ scratches where you'd expect them), the 'ash tray' for the neck pickup, and a truss rod wrench.
There is some finish checking on the body, which I've not been able to capture in photos. I've been told this is common, and actually a badge of honor. In any case, you have to look hard to find it.
This is a 2001 model bass. It was originally ordered by Gelb Music in Redwood City, CA. I'm the third owner. WHY I'M SELLING:
This really is an amazing instrument, and it sounds as good (if not better) than it looks. Unfortunately, it sits at home while I gig my five-string basses. It hasn't been out of the house since January. Coincidentally, I'm also jonesing for another five-string Jazz bass, so it's time for this one to go to a new home. EYE AND EAR CANDY: Gig Clip 1 Gig Clip 2 Gig Clip 3 TERMS & MISC. INFO:
For sale only. $2,200 shipped CONUS via UPS Ground Insured. Paypal is fine, but I will ship once the funds reach my bank account...generally two-three days after Paypal payment is submitted. $2,000 cash only for local (SF Bay Area) pickup.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for your time. Happy shopping!

However, there's always something on the wish list, I suppose. If you happen to have a Mike Lull M5V in natural...or a JoBo fiver, or perhaps an alder/rosewood MTD 635, I'm all ears. Thanks for your time, folks... |

I've played this bass and it is amazing (of course, all of his basses kill, and this one is no different). Don't hesitate to pull the trigger on this one. You won't find a more stand up guy on this forum. If I had the cash, this beauty would be mine.

The credit card has cooled a bit from my last purchase (and I picked up a few more gigs to help with the bill), so let me 'officially' open up the topic of trades. I would prefer a local transaction, so we can each try out the other guy's stuff, but in any case, let's talk. Here are some possibilities, with +/- cash as needed.
Five (or six, I suppose) string Jazz bass...Lakland JO, Sadowsky ash/maple, Mike Lull, etc. Low End...possible, but I've never played one, so we'd have to talk in detail. Ditto Elrick NJS, although I really am intrigued by those.
MTD 635, alder/rosewood only.

| | | | This is a stunning bass at a superb price, but international shipping cost is keeping this from me. For those in the US what on earth are doing, buy this already. |

I haven't bumped the thread myself, figuring, "if it sells, it sells." It's really a remarkable bass that simply doesn't get a lot of playing time....me and my infatuation with that darn B string. |

So - price drop time. Happy shopping. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
