FS Only: Mike Lull P4 - Natural/Birdseye Maple/Tort/Fralins - Mint Cond. P-bass

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD

Hate to part with this stunningly beautiful and sweet sounding P-bass, but college bills are looming and she needs to go to a new home.

Price: $1400 USD, shipped within CONUS, shipping outside CONUS at buyers cost, includes newer hard shell case. Paypal preferred.
No trade offers accepted at this time, I need the cash Trade offers will be ignored.

Here's the history:
Made in Seattle, WA, USA by Mike Lull Custom Guitars (serial #1395) Roughly 3 years old (I am third owner). I can find no noticeable dings or dents, only the typical player wear; such as swirling on the tort PG, some tiny hairline finish scratches on butt and back that cannot be seen further than 5 inches away. Been kept in my smoke free home and gigged a few times. I baby my equipment, and this is a dead mint bass.

Here's the specs:
+ Swamp Ash body
+ Graphite reinforced Maple neck
+ Birdseye maple fingerboard (subtle and beautiful)
+ Contoured Neck Heel
+ 34" Scale length
+ 21 frets
+ 12" radius fingerboard
+ 1 -3/4" nut width
+ Bone nut
+ Chrome hardware
+ Hipshot Ultralite tuners
+ Lindy Fralin Vintage "P" pickup (awesome, vintage, p-bass goodness)
+ Aluminum bridge
+ Full Electrostatic Shielding
+ PLEK'd
+ Tort pickguard
+ currently strung with new Thomastik-Inkfield flats ($70 value)
+ weight is right at 8 lbs. All Lulls are light, and this is no exception.
+ Dunlop straplocks
+ Fender TSA-approved hard case (also very new)

If you crave that vintage P-bass tone, and don't want to pay $20,000 for a vintage instrument, and MIA Fenders leave you cold (as they do me) get this one, you won't be disappointed.

Now, the pics (different shades just come from photos taken at different time of day/lighting):

beautiful fingerboard and fretwork

back and back of neck

headstock

This was my bass before Holdsg bought it. Every word of his description is true and then some. He didn't talk at length about how insanely light and comfortable the bass is. And he is being really fair on the price.

well, thanks Soxhats. Yes, it is insanely light and comfortable to play, I just figured everyone knew that about Mike Lulls.

Lull P4

I guess I knew this would happen the moment I put half down on a new one at Bass Central. Sigh.

Geez, if I had the scratch and weren't "over-bassed" right now (yes, there is such a thing), I'd buy this bass back. ‪'I'm Not Like Everybody Else' The KinKsmen The City Tap, Pittsboro, NC 9 10 10‬‏ - YouTube

Nice playin, Steve. I have a gig vid with this bass too, I'll find a way to post it.

As I remember, it was a really windy day in Southern CA ....... http://s971.photobucket.com/albums/a...t=DSCN1338.mp4

Thanks for the kind words.

OT for sure, but I also saw you have the GB Streamliner 900, which I added a few months ago. Love to add a little bit of grind to this p-bass using that amp. A match made in tonal heaven. To what do you pair the upright, to your MB combo?

I didn't have the Streamliner 900 when I had the Lull, but bet they sound great together!... Upright wise, been using the Streamliner, with either my Epifani UL 410 or the 210.
