Going, going and GONE!!!! Sold! I'll miss this one!
So how about a killer RickenFaker for about 1/2 the price of a used Ric?
Most of you know the bass. If not, it's an old 70's Made in Japan Ric copy (by a small custom shop named Kasuga). Light, AMAZING build quality, very low, buzz-free action. Even the pickups are clones of the real deal and sound just like the pups in my real-deal old 1973 and my 1980 Ric 4001 basses that I had. Yep, that's a old-school Ric type toaster pickup in the neck position and what a lot of guys with newer Rics "upgrade" the stock pickup to!
Since getting her a while back, I replaced the pots, got a hold of new Ric knobs and bought a very nice, brand new HSC for her that fits very well. It's a wood/tweed HSC with a crush red interior (again it's new). I also paid to have the truss rod decal custom made for me. Got some bucks invested in this bass!
Nails the Ric tone. Amazing bass, but just not my thing. Issues? It has a thin hairline crack on the neck up by the heastock that was repaired a while back and even refinished over by a pro luthier. Never been an issue. He said the epoxy used is even stronger than the wood and it will never split there again. Purely cosmetic.... $749 !!!
Get an amazing player and looker at the fraction of the cost of a used Ric.
Edit:
I forgot to add that while replacing the pots, I did the Ric bypass mod to the cap, but made it reversible too (just unsolder one wire and it's back to stock). This gives the bass more balls and meat in the low-end dept on the bridge pickup. Going, going and GONE!!!! Sold! I'll miss this one!

As for weight, my shoulder tells me 8.5 - 9 lbs, but I'll also gladly weigh her this eve as well.
