FS ONLY: MPG Level 5 Neck Thru

Sign in to disble this ad
For some reason, I always forget about my half-year taxes and have too much fun with my money... then I have to sell something.
AHEM!

Matt Pulcinella Level 5 NECK THRU bass
35" Scale
24 Fret Ebony Fingerboard
Hipshot A Style 19mm bridge
Ash/Koa wings with Maple/Walnut neck and mahogany core
Delano SBC6HE/S pickups
John East U Retro Deluxe Preamp (18v)
9.6 lbs
Includes Protec Hardshell bag

Controls are:
Volume
Volume with pull for BOTH pickups series/parallel
Passive tone control with pull for Active/Passive
Bass/Treble stack with high boost
Mid level/mid freq
Switches are pickups Series/parallel each

The bass is in great shape, some minor mojo, but nothing to detract from its beauty. It balances incredibly well and plays like butter. As a guy who didn't want a 35" scale, I was impressed by the ease of play with this bass. It's not bad at all. Whoever buys this will be very happy about the tonal options, balance, and playability.

MUST SELL FAST!!! NO TRADES!

PRICE DROPPED!!!!!
$1100 shipped (to the US only)

Paypal only, no exceptions.
International will be something I have to quote a price for, but will do it if I have to.

Free bump for a reputable TBer, and a really nice looking (and sounding) bass. That's some mighty sweet looking Koa there.

I remember playing that bass in the Marietta and Atlanta GC's, sounded great, it's seen a bunch of owners.

The pickups and preamp made a HUGE positive difference, so if the previous owners liked playability, but hated the Barts...
It's a whole new bass game!

Just an overall MPG bump here.

I found Matt's necks to be unlike anyone else's. I got mine in a trade and I'm glad I stumbled onto these. My ideal for a 5 string - narrow nut to standard wide spacing and a very comfortable rounded profile to back it up. He is making me a Jazz version right now, my first custom build. I'm sold!

Here's a bump with more pics: The case and the "mojo"

I am a motivated seller. PM if you want to shoot me an offer, the worst I can say is no. Plain fact is, I need money and my other bass is never going up for sale.

This bass has the most versatility when it comes to tone of any bass that I've ever had. I was just playing it yesterday and it really smokes.

I dialed in a crisp, "Smooth Jazz" slap tone, then flipped switches and tweaked knobs and got a fat "Stoner rock" tone. Not only in active either!
With the series/parallel switching options, you basically have 2 voices on each pickup, then 2 voices on both pickups and you can even add a 3 way to the pickups if needed for MORE tones. That's before the infinitely adjustable midrange frequency, as well as other boosts/cuts.

It's exactly what I wanted in a bass: Super flexibility in a well made, relatively light package that looks great.

Wish I could keep it, I really do!
