MTD Kingston Heir 5 - Sunburst/Maple - now considering trade offers

Sign in to disble this ad
Traded, gone.

Prefer to sell my 5-string MTD Kingston Heir for $550.

Now will consider trades for the following:
MIM Fender Jazz's and Precisions (USA would require too much cash on my end) no Squiers.
Sterling by Musicman Ray34 or SB14
G&L Tribute L-2000
Lakland Skylines

not interested in Ibanez, Peavey, Warwick, Schechter, just not my thing.

Shipped to CONUS only.

Based on first two digits of serial number, which are "04", this is a 2004 model, but looks brand new to me as far as normal wear and tear. There is a crack in finish below control knobs, is mostly in darker stained area, so very hard to see. Makes no difference in playability (but you all know that).

Here's the key features:
Ash Body with nice grain
Tobacco Sunburst finish w/ matching headstock
Maple neck and fingerboard, no inlays, just tiny dots on top of neck
MTD asymetric neck
Black hardware
Controls: Volume, pickup blend, Bass, Mid, & Treble boost/cut active electronics (9v)
stock MTD pickups: MM style bridge pickup, and J style neck pickup
Scale: 35"
24 medium/jumbo frets
has a zero fret, makes open notes sound like fingered
Buzz Feiten tuning system

Comes with Hohner zip up softshell hard case, used but still very serviceable.

Here are pics:

attempt at photoing the crack in the finish:

And the case:

The first two numbers of the serial number on the back of the headstock are the year. I'm guessing 05-06 due to the black hardware and older style bridge. I have this same bass but a fretless. This is a pretty good deal here folks - don't pass it up. These go for $1K nowadays...

Just picked one of these up, AMAZING bass. Feels sooo good.
I think you'd be hard pressed to find a bass of this quality at $550.

Good luck on your sale.
