FS ONLY - MUSIC MAN 25th ANNIVERSARY 5HH QUILT TOP BEAUTIFUL!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
OPEN TO TRADES FOR A 20TH ANNIVERSARY SR5 OR LIGHTER WEIGHT STANDARD SR5...PREFER SINGLE H AND A ROSEWOOD BOARD...WEIGHT COULD BE AN ISSUE.....PM ME OR LET ME KNOW HERE WHAT YOU HAVE! CASH ON YOUR END WOULD OBVIOUSLY BE NECESSARY AS WELL.....

I bought this bass new from Bass Central just a few weeks ago and love everything about it. The Finish is spectacular and includes the upcharge QUILTED Top (a $250 Option) , the weight is GREAT at about 9.4 lbs, the neck feels awesome, and the tones are exquisite!!! Soooo why am I listing her for sale?? Ahhh that is the issue...I am currently working with a producer who ONLY wants me to use SR4s and SR5s...He LOVES them to the point of being fanatical about it. He played sax for James Brown for 16 years and has chosen me to be his bass player...quite an honor for me considering the guys he has played with!! The upside is I am playing with unbelievable musicians and this guy is phenomenal! The downside is he likes this bass but he LOVES SR4s and SR5s and has asked me to step up and get one of each...

That is the dilemma...SOOOOOOO I am VERY reluctantly putting this up for sale to fund my acquisition of whatever basses we find together for me to use on his projects. FORTUNATELY I am a Music Man nut too and this is not going to cause me ANY distress at all except I have to give up this beauty...

She is in IMMACULATE condition with only some light swirling on the finish on the treble side of the strings...Everything works perfectly and the tones are AMAZING! Watch the Ed Friedland video on Youtube to get an idea of SOME of what this bass can do...I have added a set of Music Man Straplocks which I will include in the sale and she is currently strung with a set of DR Low Rider Nickels that sound incredible on this bass. I will also include the original MM strings that she came with if I can put my hands on them (Regular Slinkys I beleive). She will ship in the original Music Man case that has not left the house since I got the bass. I immediately put her in the Igig that she is in now and the case went in the closet. I will ship INSURED FOR REPLACEMENT VALUE OF $3000 to the LOWER 48 for $2150.00. If you have any questions drop me a PM. Thanks for looking and God Bless!

Congrats on the new gig! And very sorry that you have to let go of this phantastic bass!

I have the 4 string version of this bass and it awesome. Easily the best instrument I've had the honour to own and play so far.

Good luck with the sale, and with finding a good SR4 and SR5 (I hope you're at least allowed to play an SR4 HH because that's really a killer combo -- and the classic SR tone is there)

Thanks! I actually had a GREAT SR4 HH a couple of years ago and let a friend from Nashville buy it from me after he borrowed it for a gig and then basically gave me a blank check and told to me to either fill it out for what I thought was fair or file a police report for a stolen bass...

I called him last week and asked if he wanted to sell it back to me but he said no of course so I am still on the hunt...

Peace,

T

I got a PM about the string spacing on these...I am not positive. I know the width at the nut is 1.75" and feels great to me! Does anybody else know? Thanks!

Thinking about keeping this one but still looking...Will consider trades for SR4s and SR5s with cash on your end as well...They HAVE to be under about 9.5 lbs though!! Thanks and God Bless!

Peace,
