Hopefully UPS WTA got some attention.

To start off, the bass still plays fine. When it was received by another TB'er he told me it was damaged and seemed to be lacking packing materials. UPS had it for investigation, told me the claim was denied, attempted to return it to me, screwed up my instructions to hold it and the bass received with a little further damage. After that, I'm pretty much getting my partial claim money but they're giving me the run around. I still owe the TB'er money so as a heads up, this will be a Personal Paypal payment directly to him, not me.

http://s146.photobucket.com/albums/r.../SUB%20Damage/

That's the damage he was able to get snapshots of. Bent tuner, control plate was bent by the knob jamming into it, the strap pin is rammed a little into the bass. I currently cannot find one of the knobs but I have a spare one somewhere that is actually the same. This was my 4th Sub I had owned, ended up with a spare knob, just haven't finished unpacking.

The further damage is a hit to the body. The finish is still on but I can tell that as you use it, over the years if it isn't touched up or anything it'll chip away. They used some other kind of finish on these guys and haven't done anything to it to fix it. I'll try to get a pic of that later on today.

The TB'er told me it sounded really quiet. I couldn't figure it out at first, checked the pots, wiring, etc. Everything checks out still, then I realized I had forgot to check for the Battery and it wasn't there. Popped in a spare and it was good to go. So, I'm just starting this off at $300 shipped because honestly, the thing plays just fine and the tuner can be bent back without breaking it, I just haven't had time to head to my old job and use their shop so I can do it properly. Offers will DEFINITELY be considered and this is an American Made bass still. The end pin I'm going to work on Tuesday and simply take it out, refill the hole and drill unless you'd feel more comfortable doing that yourself. If it were me buying a damaged bass, I'd prefer to do the repairs myself because that's the guy I am.

So yeah, $300 Shipped, payment via Paypal to a TB'er, no Case or extras, has some strings on it. I'm still going to owe this guy money and I am willing to take on some offers but please no trades. The Bass has the wear or UPS fun but sounds and plays PERFECT! I've been using it in my lessons.

PM Me, if you're interested, offer, etc.

You took the buyer's money, shipped a bass that was damaged and now want to sell it again before refunding the orginal buyer's money?

***.

Truly, really, seriously - W. T. F.

Refund the money and THEN deal with your business end of it.

Jesus Christ.

maybe he needed the cash for something( times are hard right now) and did not think that UPS would have damaged the package and the reject the claim after he used the money on what he needed it for.
So now he has to sell the bass to RE-pay the original purchaser his refund due.

I can see how that can happen.. and its an honest mistake.

As long as the other guy gets his money back, there shouldnt be a problem.

IKf you dont have the money to pay back at the moment.. you just dont have it.. what can you do.

Well. In this case, what he did was sell the bass again and keep the money for himself. The original purchaser (me) never got the money back.

His post is saying the paypal payment will go to the purchaser because he still owes him money.. because he only got a partial payment from UPS.

" I'm pretty much getting my partial claim money but they're giving me the run around. I still owe the TB'er money so as a heads up, this will be a Personal Paypal payment directly to him, not me."

AM i understandin gthis correctly???

it sounds to me he is selling the bass and the payment goes to the TB'er that sent the bass back because of damage.

so he wont even see the money, the TB'er who is owed the money will get the payment.

Well, it's been 9 days since the bass was sold for a second time, so where is silverburst's payment?

That is what Jackkoon said he would do, but not what he did. I am the original buyer who is owed money. Jackkoon had the new "owner" pay him directly, not me. The new "owner" sent me a PM to let me know this.

BTW, I think it would be bad news for me to be on the hook for anything this joker is trying to sell. I am sure the new owner of this bass will be unhappy with it, if he ever receives it.

The new owner, Music Jag has just confirmed via PM that he hasn't received the bass either.

To sum up, two TB'ers have paid Jackkoon for a bass, and neither of them have a bass to show for it. Jackkoon has been paid twice for the same bass, which he still has.

Make it right, Jackkoon.

that is not cool at all..

Where is the buyer located compared to the seller?
I sent a bass to california from ohio and it took almost 10 days to get there using USPS.. so it could still be on its way.

I assume he is getting a partial refund from UPS as well.

If silverburst has the tracking number or claim I would suggest letting them know that the seller is taking them for a ride.

And I would like to know how it showed up "lacking packing material"? Did UPS open it up and take the packing out?

Any chance the payment (by either silverburst or music jag) was made via Paypal? If so, i think you have 45 days to file a claim/dispute, but i could be wrong on that....

This really sucks and i hate to see it in the TB community....

He insisted on a personal payment (to avoid fees) in my case, which is not eligible for a claim. Now I know.
