FS Only-Peavey T-45 w/ G&L L-1000 modification

PRICE REDUCED! POOR MAN's WUNKAY

Haven't been playing much and it's time to unload this solid Ash beauty bought last year from Funkster:

Fender MIJ 51 Reissue Pbass & PV T-45 Darkstar

I installed a vintage '81 G&L L-1000 pickup and modified the controls to duplicate Leo Fender's ultimate evolution of the Precision Bass - The G&L L-1000.

I had a 3rd pot (for bass cut) installed and a 3-way coil tap switch which gives you 3 very useful options. Humbucking, single coil and sc with bass boost.

The bass is nearly flawless, has a sweet maple neck with a wide flat profile (think G&L #5) and an OHSC. I have not finished it by making a pickup ring.
PM me if you are seriously interested and I will try to find the time to take new photos.

If you ever wanted a vintage L-1000 for less than half the price, this is it. $375 shipped. If you want to pay less, I will gladly accept lower offers but with a SD Basslines humbucker (which you'd have to install) and I keep the G&L pickup which is very hard to find.

No trades.

PM replied. Will ship overseas at cost.

I forgot to mention that I also added black block stickers to the neck which are easily removed. Bass is strung with Ken Smith (I think) nickel rounds. Would be willing to put on flats or brand new Duncan Nickels.

Photos coming.

Is the MFD a slot-pole? Would love to see a pic or two.

So how close does this thing sound to your L-1000?

It's different, but I never did an AB. The L-1000 is Mahogany and sounds bigger. The Peavey is Ash and the controls work great but I have not used it in a band situation.

BONUS OFFER!

Bonus. I will also include a fretless T-45 neck which is untested, originally had been fretted and will be shipped a little later.

It's a good question, so I took it out again to play it and has all three useful settings with distinct sounds but definitely a P-Bass.

I guess the biggest difference I noticed is the Peavey's pickups is further from the strings and doesn't have that powerful active sound the G&L has.

It will definitely benefit from a little foam underneath the pickup which I will try to do when i have a chance.
