Condition is mint +. The bass is currently wearing new MTD SS strings, has fresh Duracell batteries, and is setup with very low action.

BACKGROUND:
I am not the original owner of this bass. I purchased it in June of 2009. Neither a hardshell case or associated candy was included in that transaction. As noted above, I will ship the bass in a Roscoe hardshell case that is in excellent condition. Local buyers (again, cash only) have the option of buying that same case, or can save even more by choosing the Protec bag that held the bass when I bought it. (Final note on shipping - the bass will ship via UPS Ground, insured for $2,600. It'll be well-packaged in the Roscoe case and a Roscoe shipping box. The bass will ship as soon as funds [Paypal or other...] have reached my bank account.)

The bass is in excellent condition, and is ready to be gigged. The top is even more gorgeous in-person, and the playability and balance are typical Roscoe - in other words, amazing. The sound? Clips below, but it's quite unique. Aggressive by Roscoe standards - as you'd expect given the electronics, and the wenge wedge neck is amazing. Very full bottom-end, full mids, and crisp highs.

So, if it's such a great bass, why am I selling it? This one is a 'tweener for me. Sonically, it sits right between my MTD and my other Roscoe. Accordingly, I end up reaching for one of those more often than I do this one. This really is a tremendous instrument, and the standard cliche applies...it won't break my heart if it doesn't sell. However, it sits at home way too often, and that's always my sure-fire indicator that it's time for change.

Pricing is firm. We all have opinions, but I think this one is a bargain. Please feel free to check out Roscoe's price list for more information...specifically the wenge wedge neck and the exhibition top. This really is a terrific bass, and if I didn't have the other two in the arsenal, keeping it would be an easy decision. IMO, nothing plays like a Roscoe, and this is certainly no exception. Also IMO, the sound is unique - still Roscoe at the core, but with a bit more oomph and open-sounding upper mids than you'd typically find. My local guru muttered the words, "Smith," and "MTD" when hearing it.

Here's a bump for one of my favorites bassist on TB & Roscoe's are one of the best basses around. I played an LG 3005 from about 1994 until 2001. It didn't even have the inlay on the 12th fret.
Jerry's basses are always in pristine condition. He's OCD about 'em like I am.

Jerry is the best of the best. Extremely knowledgable and personable. This one is sure not to disappoint. Obviously stunning, but to those who haven't played a Roscoe, buy this bass and you'll be forever grateful. Good luck Jerry!

That's the most beautiful Roscoe I've ever seen. Great TBer also.... and a very good price, given the upgrades on that bass.

Folks, thanks so much for the great comments. Mike...not trying a hard sale or anything, but I can hear you making some serious music with this bass.

That's really nice. I like the samples with the 6.0-12T combo. Very familiar...

Bump. Thanks for the PM's. I am after an outright sale on this one, but every now and then something does strike a nerve...like that recent 34" six-string LEJ fretless, for example. So, a few trade possibilities, just in case they're out there on the interwebz somewhere: five-string Lakland USA Jazz models, five-string ash/maple Sadowsky Jazz models, alder/rosewood MTD 635, and lined-fretless variants of all.
