BACKGROUND:
I am not the original owner of this bass. I purchased it in June of 2009. Neither a hardshell case or associated candy was included in that transaction. As noted above, I will ship the bass in a Roscoe hardshell case that is in excellent condition. Local buyers (again, cash only) have the option of buying that same case, or can save even more by choosing the Protec bag that held the bass when I bought it. (
Final note on shipping - the bass will ship via UPS Ground, insured for $2,600. It'll be well-packaged in the Roscoe case and a Roscoe shipping box. The bass will ship as soon as funds [Paypal or other...] have reached my bank account.)
The bass is in excellent condition, and is ready to be gigged. The top is even more gorgeous in-person, and the playability and balance are typical Roscoe - in other words, amazing. The sound? Clips below, but it's quite unique. Aggressive by Roscoe standards - as you'd expect given the electronics, and the wenge wedge neck is amazing. Very full bottom-end, full mids, and crisp highs.
So, if it's such a great bass, why am I selling it? This one is a 'tweener for me. Sonically, it sits right between my MTD and my other Roscoe. Accordingly, I end up reaching for one of those more often than I do this one. This really is a tremendous instrument, and the standard cliche applies...it won't break my heart if it doesn't sell.

However, it sits at home way too often, and that's always my sure-fire indicator that it's time for change.
Pricing is firm. We all have opinions, but I think this one is a bargain. Please feel free to check out Roscoe's
price list for more information...specifically the wenge wedge neck and the exhibition top. This really is a terrific bass, and if I didn't have the other two in the arsenal, keeping it would be an easy decision. IMO, nothing plays like a Roscoe, and this is certainly no exception. Also IMO, the sound is unique - still Roscoe at the core, but with a bit more oomph and open-sounding upper mids than you'd typically find. My local guru muttered the words, "Smith," and "MTD" when hearing it.
